OSMF Video Player

Recently I discovered Adobe’s Open Source Media Framework (OSMF) which is a framework to better allow developers, such as myself, to assemble components to create high-quality, full-featured video playback experiences (their words, not mine).

Basically its a way of easily combining multiple elements such as text, video, audio and images to create a rich media player. Since I have always wanted to build my own solid video player, I decided to go ahead and use the OSMF.

And now, a few months on, I’ve managed to build a fairly robust video player.  It’s not quite a media player yet, I intend to make a somewhat more powerful version of what I have now that can play music and video without the need for seperate swf files, but for the moment I am very happy with this. It has combined quite a few elements that I have been working on for quite a few weeks now. Some of you may recognise the Sliderbar that I meantioned a few weeks ago.

Anyways, enjoy a delightful Portal 2 video in my new video player.
