I have a body. It is named pain

Ouch, damnation. After the excellent outing yesterday with the Go Karts, I have to deal with the unfortunate side effects, namely sore muscles and sunburn. Sunburn I must admit is not much of a problem, more of a mild irritance. But the muscles, ow. For those who have not been karting must understand that the steering on a kart is very stiff so you do have to put some effort into it to actually get the kart to turn, and that can be somewhat painful after a while. Particularly since I spent about 3x more time than what a normal person would spend in a given day. Damnation but totally worth it.

Goodbye iPod mini... hello iPod Touch
in Blog posted 2008-04-12 22:45:14
My old iPod died today.. after many years of musical entertainment at volumes ensuring the premature loss of my hearing it has passed on to the magical place where the souls of machines go. ........ THERE IS SUCH A PLACE!!

Anyway, having the need to acquire a new iPod as I enjoyed the old one, I did some quick research at work tossing on whether or not to buy the massive storage iPod classic or the new iPod touch. After some debate I decided on the iPod touch, acquiring the 32gb capacity one which has only been out for about 2 months now.

My thoughts so far on the pod are generally positive. It has a nice ensemble of features aside from music, superb sound and video quality and the touch screen is just so much fun to play around on. Apple reinvented the wheel when they developed the interface design for the iPod and it seems that history has repeated itself. I particularly enjoy the feature of being able to see cover art while I am trying to find a song to play. I really do not know why this is, I just enjoy it. But of course, nothing is perfect and unfortunatly the iPod touch has a massive, reason to self cannabalise flaw. I like to call this flaw iTunes.

Now some may claim that iTunes is a brilliant problem and combining it with the iPod worked very well. To those I say, IT DOES NOT now come over here so I can attach these balls and chains to your legs and place you nicely into this deep deep water. Other may claim that you do not need to use iTunes as most music players such as Winamp and Media Jukebox allow you to fiddle with the content on your iPod. To those I say, you are right. I used Winamp for changing content on my iPod for a long before I started using Media Jukebox and both programs were absolute heaven. Unfortunatly the iPod touch DOES NOT have the capability to be treated as an external hard drive which means that the iPod is not detected by your computer and as such, other programs that used to be capable of modifying the content cannot anymore. After making this unfortunate discovery and reattaching the leg I had bitten off in rage, I set about placing the arse shit of a program iTunes on my computer so I could get content onto my pod. I still cannot understand why Apple, who brought out a wonderous piece of audio and video engineering chose to develop such a program. I get the feeling that Apple was developing a good music player but unfortunatly those working in the retard dept released iTunes without being informed that they were not meant to release anything and sent iTunes into the world, with Apple claiming that was the program they were building just to save face. Some may ask why I have such an issue with iTunes. The answer is simple; the interface is terrible, it cannot properly sort songs the way you want them, getting cover art onto songs is a gigantic pain in the arse and you have got the iTunes store jumping in your face every five minutes telling you to buy something.

So after spending several agonising hours getting my content sorted thanks to the abominable crapheap of a program, my iPod touch is now up and running and I eagerly await the day that Media Jukebox figures out a way to sync with the iPod touch so I can purge iTunes from my system.

I have been watching new eps of Naruto from Dattebayo and so far they have been excellent and following the Manga very nicely. I get the nasty feeling that the story may be going on a tangent away from the manga and this concerns me. I like the manga, it has been enjoyable reading and I hope that my fears are misplaced.
I think i have pissed off the gaming gods.

After my outraged discovery last week that Dark Sector was not going to be released to Australia, I immediatly set about ordering the brilliant violent fest from NZ. I thought this would pleasure the gaming gods. I have taken the law of Australia... or at the very least the Office of Classification and shot at its kneecaps for trying to prevent me from enjoying such sexy violence but apparently this was not the case.

I received a pleasant email in my inbox last monday indicating that my order had been shipped. Hooray I cried. In my mind since NZ is only a three hour flight away I might have gotten it the same week, but this was not to be, oh no! Instead it has taken eight fucking days from it being shipped to my doorstep. This cluster grenade of burning revenge was only enhanced by my brother informing me that my delivery had arrived but I was going to be unable to play it due my mass amounts of uni work that I am needing to do.

Actually, the increase in uni work that I have been needing to do may be, in fact, the reason that the gods have decided to punish me in such a way. Although when it comes down to the gods delaying a game and my uni friends beating the living shit out of me with my own console for not getting my share of the work done, I think I will take my chances with GTA not being delivered until October.
