BlueCube was a 3rd year, 10 month university project in which myself and four others, created a website for Global Village, an international english learning school, and Video Media Pro, a Brisbane based multimedia company. The site was to feature a multitude of Web 2.0 technologies in an effort to distinguish the Qld branches of Global Village away from the main company.
This project was built using the ModX Content Management System in combination with the Simple Machines Forum. Numerous plug-ins needed to be developed for the ModX system to allow for all the requirements of the project to be met.
I had numerous roles on this project, but the largest of them was that of lead programmer. It was my responsibility to oversee all coding, to ensure that it was commented adequately and deal with major issues that arose during the coding phase of the project.
The project, despite some mistakes and difficulties, was successfully completed on time and met all the requirements of the client. However, due to the client wishing to make changes to the project after the handover of the product to VMP, the site is not yet online
